Local Billion Dollar Bake Sale Action Toolkit
What is a local event for the Billion Dollar Bake Sale?
Each local Billion Dollar Bake Sale event has a primary goal: to empower your community to tell their lawmakers that fully funding K-12 education must be a top priority this session in order to prevent more school district program cuts, layoffs, and school closures. At your event, attendees can write postcards to their legislators and register for statewide Advocacy Day where they will get to meet with their legislators (the campaign will set up virtual and in-person meetings). Baked goods are optional!
Why bake sales? Bake sales are a common way parents and students raise money for their schools or programs. We want to highlight that there is no way families across Washington can 'bake sale' their way to closing a $4 billion funding gap for K-12 education.Β
